Growing up in small-town Georgia, Jake dreamed of becoming a journalist and author. In college, he discovered a new passion and switched his focus to business management at Piedmont College. ⁣ Two college courses that unexpectedly inspired Jake were Business Law and Personal Finance. These subjects would later shape his career trajectory. Jake found his calling when he joined a consulting firm specializing in planning services for families receiving legal settlements. His dedication to helping clients directly earned him a leadership position within the firm, where he now imparts his expertise to a team of planners.⁣ ⁣ Even though Jake's professional journey diverged from his original dream, he discovered a passion for helping families navigate their financial complexities. Interestingly, he found that the fundamental principles of good storytelling, clarity, relatability, and audience engagement, apply in explaining intricate financial concepts to clients.⁣ ⁣ Jake continues to enjoy creative writing in his spare time. He has found the power of clear, relatable, and engaging communication invaluable in his work, helping families understand and achieve their financial goals. This approach, enriched with empathy and kindness, allows Jake to stand out in his industry.⁣ ⁣ Currently, Jake holds life insurance licenses in various states and has successfully passed the Series 65 exam. He resides in the metro Atlanta area with his wife Jennifer, and they are in the midst of adopting their first child. Jake remains a dedicated sports fan, supporting the Falcons, the Braves, and the Carolina Hurricanes. Yet, his all-time favorite remains professional wrestling, a fascination since his childhood.
